Services Provided

Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP): Provides short-term rental, mortgage, and utility assistance to low income Dallas County residents living outside of the City of Dallas economically affected (loss/reduction of income) by the spread of COVID-19.

Texas Rental Assistance Program (TERAP): Provides short-term rental assistance to low income Dallas County residents living outside of the City of Dallas economically affected (loss/reduction of income) by the spread of COVID-19.

Eligibility Requirements

-Applicants cannot currently be receiving any assistance through another entity
-Applicants must reside in Dallas county but OUTSIDE of the City of Dallas (verified by zip code)
-Applicants household income must fall within the Area Median Income (AMI)
-Applicants must have suffered an economic impact on or after March 13th, 2020

Application Process

Please visit their website for the EHAP pre-screening application to get started. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-screening applications will be accepted through the form on their website. All applicants must provide current documentation (within the last 30 days).

Limits

Assistance is up to 12 months if selected and 18 months max (plus 1 arrears month) for new applicants.
Clients currently receiving ongoing assistance through ERA will continue to receive assistance for a maximum of three (3) months from the date of the last recertification process.
