Services Provided

Assistance with paying gas or electricity bills. May also aid with the repair or replacement of existing A/C units. CEAP will pay the utility company directly if approved.

Eligibility Requirements

-Households must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty guideline limit
-Households with the elderly, disabled persons, or with children under 5 years old will be prioritized for assistance and unit repair/replacement
-Proof of citizenship
-Proof of income
-Social security card
-Driver’s license/identification
-Original gas/electric bill is required

Application Process

Please call if you are interested in applying. Due to high volume of calls there may be a high wait period. Online applications are also available. Program is experiencing 10 to 12 week delay in processing new applications.

Limits

Based on the past 30-day income for all household members prior to the date of application, households must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty guideline limit. Dallas County residents only.
